James B. “Jamie” Shaffer, 54, of Corydon, died Friday, May 7, 2021, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Indiana. He was born December 1, 1966, in Corydon, to the late Brent Wilson “Fuzzy” Shaffer and Mary Faye Roby Shaffer. Jamie built and was the owner of Shaffer’s 24-Hour Towing and Recovery Quality Auto Tire Sales and Service in Corydon and was a contract school bus owner/operator with South Harrison Community School Corporation for over 30 years.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Wooten Shaffer; his children, Jackie Shaffer-Weddington (Craig) of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, Christopher Charles James Shaffer (Joann) of Corydon, and Sassy Jo (his beloved Australian Shepherd companion); his grandchildren, Brentley Ann Nicole Weddington, Braxley Mae Lynn Weddington and Willow Oaklyn Grace Weddington; 1 brother; 2 sisters; and his other beloved dog companions, Cooper, KK and Cash.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Rev. Rick Utz will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery near Corydon.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the American Kidney Fund.
Pallbearers will be Jackie Shaffer-Weddington, Christopher Shaffer, Scott Phipps, James Salings, Jeff Wolfe, Mike Austin, Brian Chinn and Cy Sherrill. Honorary pallbearers will be Yogi Davis, Scott Davis, Clark Hardsaw, Jerry Reed, Joel Hubbard, Darell Wagner, Ginnie Wiseman and Sara Lopp.
