Jacquelyn Mary (Wohlleb) Acton, 67, of Elizabeth, Indiana, died Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Indiana. She was born January 31, 1953, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Anthony Wohlleb, Sr. and Marilyn Smith Wohlleb.
She graduated from Loretto Catholic High School in 1971and worked at her family’s business, Wohlleb’s Bakery, in Louisville, for many years and also helped at her mother’s bookstore. Jacquelyn was employed at Mills Pharmacy in New Albany, Steinco in Elizabeth and St. Jude’s call center in New Albany and was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church near Lanesville.
Jacquelyn loved reading, watching history channels and talking to her kids and brothers on the phone. She also loved her husband, Robert, whom she married on January 23, 1981. They were planning on renewing their wedding vows next year to celebrate their 40th anniversary. When she was in good health, she loved watching her children, grandchildren and nephews play sports. Her favorite NFL team was the Indianapolis Colts, especially when Peyton Manning played. She had a special place for cats, especially, Damon. She was an avid traveler, from Florida to Niagara Falls, New York, to out west, including Yellowstone and the Rocky Mountains, to the Grand Canyon and also to two of the Hawaiian Islands.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Acton; her son, Jonathan Acton of Elizabeth; her daughters, Jessica Schneider (Jason) of Lanesville, Tiffaney Powers (Jason) of Corydon and Sarah Acton (fiancé Zachary Newton) of Louisville; her grandchildren, Lakyn Elliott, Ellie Schneider, Macy Powers and Lucy Schneider; and her brothers, Anthony Wohlleb (Karen) of Charlestown, Indiana and Mark Wohlleb of Jeffersonville, Indiana.
Funeral services will be private at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lanesville. Pastor Mark Carnahan will officiate.
Visitation will be public from 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday and from 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
