Ida Mae Nye

Ida Mae Nye, 82, of Corydon, formerly of Charlestown, Indiana, died Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Indiana.  She was born September 23, 1940, in Irvine, Kentucky, to the late James Mont Mullen McIntosh and Armilda Sons McIntosh.  She was formerly employed in produce and at the bakery at Walmart in Corydon and at the old Indiana Army Ammunition Bag Plant near Charlestown, Indiana, and was a former Egg Candler in Corydon.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Monroe, Bill “Soccer”, Sid, Jay, and David McIntosh; and her sisters, Lorene “Tootsie” Quire, Margie Burkhead, and Mollie Colements.

Survivors include her husband, George C. Nye; her sons, George Morgan Nye (Stacy Mattenley) and James Russell Nye (Cheryl) both of Corydon; her daughter, April Rose Sanders (Scott) of Corydon; her brothers, Finley McIntosh of Richmond, Kentucky and Jimmy McIntosh of Salem, Indiana; her sister, Nettie Hutchison of Charlestown, Indiana; her grandchildren, Sheree Byrd (John Prather), Deirdre Jones (Richard), Kristina Simmons (Shane Black), Brittany Nye, Mariah Jo Nye (Kati), Jimma Henderson (Jesse Zink), Chance Nye, Rena Patton, and Megan Whalen (Alec Dones); and 10 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 27, 2023, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Dale W. Bryant will officiate.  Burial will be in Heidelberg Cemetery near Corydon.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Saturday and after 10:00 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
