Harold T. Chancey, 80, of Laconia, died Friday, February 5, 2021, at his home near Laconia. He was born April 1, 1940, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late Malcolm Chancey, Sr. and Lula Belle Rachford Chancey. He was retired from General Electric in Louisville, was a member of Grace Tabernacle Assembly of God Church near Laconia, was a chaplain at the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department, and was the founder and president of the Indiana Wildlife Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Patricia Ann Decker Chancey; and his brothers, Donnie, Otis, Norman and Jerry Chancey.
Survivors include his son, Tim L. Chancey (Sherry) of Sulphur, Indiana; his daughter, Debbie L. Brown (DeNeil) of Laconia; his grandchildren, Crystal Richards (Scott), Jonathan Brown (Brandi), Ashley Brown, Thomas Clayton Chancey (Megan), Lacey Shantel Pauley (Nick), Teresa Loranda Williams (Nicholas), and Talyn Ray Chancey (Kaylee); his great grandchildren, Dylan Richards, Brayden Richards, Dow O’Neal, Riley Brown, Parker Brown, Connor Brown, Kadin Chancey, Wesson Chancey, Waylon Chancey, Sebastian Pauley, Evelyn Pauley, Oliver Pauley, Marshall Williams, Wren Chancey, and Delilah Chancey; his brothers, Malcolm Chancey, Jr. and Lonnie Chancey; and his sisters, Delores Knipp and Sylvia Durr.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at Grace Tabernacle Church near Laconia. Rev. Greg Carter will officiate. Burial will be in Rehoboth Cemetery near Laconia.
Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
