Harold Scott, 79, of Lanesville, died Friday, August 5, 2022, at his home in Lanesville. He was born February 28, 1943, in Corydon, Indiana, to the late J.W. and Clara Jones Scott. Harold was retired from Indiana Bell/AT&T, was formerly a photographer and sports writer for the Corydon Republican newspaper, was a Mason and a Shriner, was a member of the Lanesville Volunteer Fire Department for 26 years, the Lanesville Heritage Committee, and the Harrison County Sheriff’s Merit Board, was a Kentucky Colonel, coached Lanesville Little League Baseball, was active with Kosair Charities and the WHAS Crusade for Children, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, Brian Eugene Farmer, and his infant sister and brother.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn M. Schoonover Scott; his daughters, Michelle Scott Farmer (Barry) and Ursula Roberts-Stilger (Michael); his sons, William F. Roberts (Teresa) and Eric C. Roberts (Debra); 11 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
There will be a Celebration of life from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at the Lanesville Heritage Community Center. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Corydon.
