Geraldine Frances Sieg Baxley Watson, 94, of Corydon, died Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at her home near Corydon. She was born September 21, 1927, in Harrison County, Indiana, to the late Wesley T. and Freida Peper Sieg. Geraldine was the owner, along with her husband Charles, of the old Elm Restaurant and Baxley’s Pool Hall both in Corydon, was a member of Old Capitol United Methodist Church in Corydon where she was also a member of the choir, was a member and past president of the Silver Liners and the Harrison County Hymn Sings, and was a former member of the Corydon American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Charles R. Baxley and Jesse G. Watson; her granddaughter, Dana Presley; her son in law, Henry Koons; and her brother, Vincent T. Sieg.
Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Presley of Corydon, Donna Stultz of New Salisbury, Indiana, Janet Koons of Corydon, and Margie Hoehn (Steve) of Corydon; 10 Grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 12, 2022, at Old Capitol United Methodist Church in Corydon. Rev. Andy Hansen will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Saturday and after 10:00 a.m. Sunday at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to Old Capitol United Methodist Church.
Pallbearers will be J.R. Presley, David Presley, John Karsner, Devin Bolen, Michael Koons, Zachary Ty Overton, Brian Sieg and Josh McKim. Honorary pallbearers will be Caden Koons, Eli Vermillion and Dalton McKim.
