Gary Thomas Smith, 72, of New Salisbury, Indiana, died Thursday, November 23, 2023, at his home in New Salisbury.  He was born April 13, 1951, in Corydon, Indiana, to the late Thomas Alvin “Tom” and Wanda Marie Faith Smith.  He was a retired maintenance supervisor at Tower Automotive in Corydon, and was a member of the V.F.W. Post 2950 in Corydon, the Corydon Moose Lodge, and many antique car clubs.

 

Survivors include his wife, Marcia Cunningham Smith; his son, Christopher Smith (Noemi) of Jeffersonville, Indiana; his daughter, Missi Saulman (Jon) of Corydon; his grandchildren, Joshua Saulman, Zoe Beth Saulman, Brooklynn Ann Smith, Trey Patrick Saulman, Sam McBride, and Sophie McBride; his great grandchildren, Jace Saulman and Sidney Saulman; and his sister, Pamela Kingsley of Laconia, Indiana.

 

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 27, 2023, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Duane Boady will officiate.  Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.

 

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Sunday and after 9:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

 

Pallbearers will be Carl Whitman, Jim Smith, Robb Smith, Joshua Saulman, Trey Saulman, Frank Bill, Jon Saulman, and Jim Lang.

 

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the V.F.W. Post 2950 in Corydon.
