Gary Lynn Rainbolt Obituary

Gary Lynn Rainbolt,82, Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great grandfather left this world to be with Jesus on May 25th, 2024 surrounded by family.

 

He was born July 28th, 1941 to Oliver and Ozena Montgomery Rainbolt in Corydon, Indiana. Gary is survived by his wife of 63 years, Crystal (Susie) Rainbolt, son, William (Sue) Rainbolt of Charlestown, Indiana; and four daughters, Cathy Stark, Georgia (Danny) South, Teresa Gerdon all of Corydon, and Lori (Jerry) Crone of Depauw, Indiana. He has 12 Grandchildren, Jessica Vermillion, Nathan Rainbolt, Tabitha Seacat, Mallory Fletcher, Erica South, Brooke South, Stuart Stark, Tyler Stark, Brandon Crone, Courtney Crone, and 18 great grandchildren and five siblings, Joanne Redlinger, Sharon Fleace, Pam Fleace, Ronnie Rainbolt and Linda Bischoff. 

 

Gary was preceeded in death by his parents, his son- in- law, Roger Gerdon, and grandsons, Joshua Crone and Daniel South Jr.

 

Gary was a long-haul truck driver and enjoyed spending time with his family, watching his grandchildren and great grands participate in sports, and he loved to watch a good Western. He was a member of Smith Campgroup United Methodist Church near Laconia, Indiana.  Gary loved his family fiercely and was always cracking a joke, or poking fun. His smile would brighten any room and his laugh was contagious.

 

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 29, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Thursday, May 30, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with the funeral to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Burial will be at Smith Campground Cemetery, 2604 Smith Campground Rd, SE. Laconia, Indiana 47135.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations to be sent to Smith Campground Cemetery Fund or the American Kidney Fund.
