Evan “Bugsy” Pierce, 58, of Mauckport, Indiana, died Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Indiana. He was born September 5, 1966, in Jamestown, Kentucky, to the late Ray Eblin and Mary Lee Scott Pierce. He worked for ICON Metal Forming for 20+ years and retired from ICON Metal Forming located in Corydon, Indiana. He was a proud member of the UAW Local 2289, the V.F.W. Post 2950 in Corydon, and was an extremely proud U.S. Army veteran, having served in the 101st Airborne and the 1st Battalion of the 187th Infantry Regiment (Rakkasans). He loved to travel and especially loved to ride his motorcycles. Bugsy was a very special person to his family, friends and everyone who knew him, and will be missed dearly. Evan, “Bugsy”, was just an ordinary guy, but in every aspect extraordinary. He never met a stranger, loved to shoot the breeze, work on things, always a supporter and provider to those in need, and could be seen many summer days chasing the sunset just across the horizon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Ralph and James.
Survivors include his daughters, Leah Robinson (Jamon), Heather Smith (Jesse), and Jessica Harrell; his grandchildren, Connor Brown, Ke’anna Robinson, Keiran Pierce, Bryson Smith, Gabe Smith, Makayla Harrell, and Steven Harrell; his brother, Danny; his sisters, Theresa, Regina, and Rayetta; his girlfriend, Lil; and his faithful companion, Jax.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 13, 2024, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Burial will be in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery in Radcliff, Kentucky.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday and after 10:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jason Pierce, Jesse Smith, Jimmy Morgan, Connor Brown, Nathan Pierce, and Nathan Pierce, Jr..
