Edna Mae Gunther, 88, of Laconia, Indiana, died Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at her home near Laconia. She was born August 9, 1934, in Harrison County, Indiana, to the late Edward and Bessie Beckort Uesseler. She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in New Middletown, Indiana and was very active in Women’s Aglow Christian women’s group.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Orlen Gunther; her son, Orlen Gunther, Jr.; her daughter, Linda Miller; her brother, Carl Uesseler; and her sisters, Jean Smith and Helen Philpot.
Survivors include her son, Edward Gunther (Rose) of Corydon, Indiana; her daughters, Judith Gunther of Laconia and Donna Mattingly (Garry) of Corydon; her brother, William Uesseler of Lanesville, Indiana; her son in law, Jerry Miller of Nashville, Indiana; her daughter in law, Susan Gunther of Laconia; her grandchildren, Chad Gunther (Jennifer), Greta Roy, Wes Davis, Katie Davis, Jacob Gunther, Brooke Mattingly, Jackie Trent (Casey), Olivia Miller, and Seth Miller; and her great grandchildren, Emily, Travis, Chloe, Alyssa, Bradley, Colton, Aria, and Kaden.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 2, 2022, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Rev. Lori Miller-Price will officiate. Burial will be in Salem United Church of Christ Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday and after 9:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to Salem United Church of Christ.
Pallbearers will be Chad Gunther, Jacob Gunther, Wes Davis, Travis Gunther, Seth Miller, Olivia Miller, Paul Philpot, and Doug Uesseler.
