Dr. Lawrence A. Warren Obituary

Dr. Lawrence (Larry) A. Warren passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Florida Coast Medical Center in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

 

Larry was a devoted husband and father and cherished member of the community. He was born September 21,1940, in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Claude M. and Nina Jean Warren. He was a graduate of Indiana University with his master’s degree and completed his studies in the school of Dentistry, in Doctor of Dental Surgery. He practiced in his profession in Corydon, Indiana from 1967 to 2000. For 30 years he raised cattle on farms in western Harrison County. He loved all animals, including Wiggles and Dixie (two mini dachshunds) but his favorite was his beloved dog Rahab.

 

Larry’s favorite sport was amateur wrestling. He was Marion County (Indianapolis) high school champ in 1957, and he went on to become a world respected referee. Larry refereed 2 Indiana and 6 Kentucky high school state championships, several national and international tournaments, one was the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow, Russia.

 

In his retirement years he became an avid golfer, bowler and enjoyed playing baseball. He spent several winters in Florida, moving there permanently in 2013. Larry also loved to sing and was a member of “The Hayswood Singers” in Corydon, Indiana and St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church choir in Ft Pierce, Florida and other local Choirs.

 

He is preceded in death by his first wife Norma Gibson Warren and his sister Barbara Jean Edwards, and his brother Bradford L. Warren.

 

He is survived by his devoted wife Bonnie Lee McCloskey-Warren which he cherished dearly, his son Adam C. Warren (Cindy), and his daughter Robin K. Warren (Marci), His brothers Claude Warren Jr, (Nancy), William Warren (Jane), Kent Warren (Kerry), granddaughters Emme Warren and Meg Warren and grandsons Sam Warren and Max Warren, and several nieces and nephews.

 

He was a member of Laneville Aero Club, Hayswood Theatre, Corydon Rotary Club, lifelong member of Indiana University Alumni, Indiana and American Dental Association, Indiana Wrestling Hall of Fame, Harrison County and Indiana Beef Cattle Association, Harrison County Board of Health, Hosparus Volunteer, and a former board member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Fort Pierce, Florida.

 

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home, 201 North Oak Street in Corydon, Indiana.

 

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2025 and Saturday, December 6, 2025 from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. followed by funeral services.
