Dorothy Elizabeth Shireman, 89, of New Albany, Indiana, died Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at her home in New Albany.  She was born January 11, 1937, in Harrison County, Indiana, to the late Ottie Ray Albin and Carrye Elizabeth Melton Albin.  She was a homemaker and was formerly employed with the Floyd County Sheriff’s Department.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred E. Shireman; her daughter, Debbie E. Lohmeyer; her grandson, Robbie L. Flickner; her great grandchildren, Maria & Waylon; her brother, Merrill Albin; and her sister, Shirley Richard.

Survivors include her son, Charles W. Shireman; her daughter, Susan E. Flickner; her grandchildren, Jennie VanWinkle (David), Donna Kitterman (Terry), Mandy Laurin (Derick), Beth Shireman (Sean), Anthony Shireman (Chelsea), and Jacob Shireman; her great grandchildren, Regal, Bryce, Michelle, Colton, Veronica, Sidney, Jaylen, Ashton, and Ava; and her great great grandchildren, Rita, Isiah, Keegan, Eliana, and Kamila.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
