Doris Hoke LaPlant, 83, of Elizabeth, Indiana, died Monday, February 17, 2025, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Indiana.  She was born November 2, 1941 to the late Homer D. and Florence Brim Hoke.  She was a member of the Elizabeth Presbyterian Church of the Covenant and the Elizabeth Lions Club.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James E. LaPlant, Sr.; her great grandson, Ethan Stewart; and her brothers, Harold, Garold and Burl Hoke.

 

Survivors include her children, Angela Stewart (Richard) of Elizabeth, Anita LaPlant (Mike Meile) of Lenexa, Kansas, Jimmy LaPlant (Carrie) of Elizabeth, Kevin LaPlant (Brooklyn) of Elizabeth and Joe LaPlant of Elizabeth; and many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Rev. Richard Goodwin will officiate.  Burial will be in St. Peter’s Catholic Church Cemetery Buena Vista.

 

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday and after 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

 

Pallbearers will be Lane LaPlant, Roy Stewart, Richard Stewart, Tim Harmon, Allen Hoke and Mike Meile.
