Donald R. Kaiser, 77, of Laconia, Indiana, died Saturday, July 20, 2024, at his home near Laconia.  He was born November 1, 1946, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Wilbur A. and Marjorie Louise Shireman Kaiser.  He was retired from Daramic in Corydon, was formerly employed in pipeline construction, was a member of Union Chapel Christian Church near Laconia and the Hornickel Post American Legion #379 in Elizabeth, Indiana, loved hunting, fishing and gardening, and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Michael Kaiser; and his sisters, Julie Wilson, Joan Steen and Sandra Dorton.

 

Survivors include his wife, Lynda Shaffer Kaiser; his brothers Darrell (Joanie), Douglas, Larry (Janet) and Jerald Kaiser; and his sisters, Jane Gilpin, June Langsdon (Alan), Dottie Miller, Cheryl Schoen (Russell), Patty Ashley (Ronnie) and Linda Decker (Rich).

 

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Rev. Ron Stuart will officiate.  Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth.

 

Visitation will be from 2:00 pm. - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

 

Pallbearers will be Darrell Kaiser, Craig Kaiser, Derek Kaiser, Bobby Kaiser, Rick Taylor and Shannon Taylor.  Honorary pallbearers will be Timmy Taylor, Gary Richard and Marvin Houser.

 

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to Hornickel Post American Legion #379 in Elizabeth.
