Donald Paul “Donnie” Eschbacher, 66, of Laconia, Indiana, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2024, at his home near Laconia.  He was born January 30, 1958, in Akron, Ohio, to the late Clarence Eschbacher, Sr. and Winnie Moats Eschbacher. 

 

Donnie was known for loving his family, his humor, never meeting a stranger, his trips around the “block” and hunting, and will dearly be missed by his family, friends and all that knew him.

 

He was retired from Mulzer Crushed Stone, and was a past Master Mason and member of the Crandall Lodge #591.  He enjoyed retirement spending time with his family, traveling, and driving a semi and working for Fleace Farms.

 

Survivors include his wife, Teresa Sherman Eschbacher; his children, Natalie Ward (Craig), Brandon Eschbacher (Skylar), Scott Decker (Kelly), Bridgett West (RJ) and Savannah Clem (Ethan); his father and mother in law, Ralph and Barbara Sherman; his brothers, Buck Eschbacher (Irma) and Andy Eschbacher (Karen); his sister, Kathy Eschbacher-Timberlake; his brothers and sisters in law, Doug Sherman (Sandy), Kathy Payne (Brian) and Ang Sherman (Jodi Smialek); his grandchildren, Tinley, Scarlett, Cole, Camden, Hazel, Carson, Connor, Ryleigh, Bristol, Melba, Amelia and Alma; and several nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 3, 2024, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Pastor Allen Edwards will officiate.  Burial will be in Otterbein Cemetery near Laconia.

 

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Saturday and after 10:00 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

 

There will be a Masonic service at 7:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

 

Pallbearers will be Kyle Eschbacher, John Eschbacher, Brent Sherman, Derrick Payne, Stephen Lowery and Justin Fleace.  Honorary pallbearers will be Preston Eschbacher and Brett Sayre.

 

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the Heth Township Fire Department.
