Darrell W. Lowe, Sr.

Darrell Wayne Lowe, Sr. 70, of New Salisbury, died Saturday, July 13, 2019, at his home near New Salisbury.  He was born May 3, 1949, in Fort Knox, Kentucky, to the late Alva “Bill” and Mary Byerley Lowe.  He was retired from E.I. DuPont in Louisville, was a member of the First Baptist Church of Alton, Indiana, and was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, Taylor Jones; and his brothers Jack Lowe, Sr. and Joseph Lowe.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Karen L. Shewmaker Lowe; his son, Darrell W. Lowe, Jr. (Helen) of Hardinsburg, Indiana; his daughters, Melissa Johnston (David) of Greenwood, Indiana, Dana Jones of Lafayette, Indiana, and Vicky Schneider (Mark) of Georgetown, Indiana; his father in law, Albert Shewmaker of New Salisbury; his brothers, Gerald Lowe, Sr. (Lois) of Corydon, Randy Lowe, Sr. (Denise) of Ramsey, Indiana, Mickey Lowe, Sr. of Corydon, and Gary Lowe, Sr. (Brenda) of Corydon; his sisters, Joyce Schreck (Dick) of Corydon, Barbara Bullington (Danny) of Ramsey, and Karen Sue Smith (Jerry) of Corydon; his grandchildren, Michael, Meghan, Bethany, Mitchell, Trey, Caden, Olivia, Tony, Abigail, McKenzye, Adam, Kira, and Ryan; and his great grandchildren, Luke and Luca.

There will be a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, July 20, 2019, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Pastor Paul Holt will officiate.  Burial will be in Thompson’s Chapel Cemetery near Depauw, Indiana.

Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
