Darrell E. Brown

Darrell E. Brown, 93, of Corydon, died Sunday, July 23, 2023, at Harrison Springs Health Campus in Corydon.  He was born November 22, 1929, in Leavenworth, Indiana, to the late Ray and Hazel Pate Brown.  He was the founder of D.E. Brown Insurance, Inc. in Corydon, was a member of the American Legion, the V.F.W., the DAV, the Elks Lodge, The Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the Moose Lodge, and was a U.S. Army veteran in the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bernice L. Coffman Brown; his brothers, Neely and Delmar Brown; his sisters, Earlene Engleman and Reba Brown; and his son in law, Mike Kirchgessner.

Survivors include his sons, Darrell E. Brown, Jr., Mark Brown (Laura), and Dale Watson (Debbie); his daughters, Joy Kirchgessner, Dr. Anita Trowbridge (Marvin), Carol Sue Therrien, Linda Lanning (George), and Freida Lee Meincken (John); and many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

There will be a graveside service at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 27, 2023, at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.  Darrell’s nephew, Randy Brown will officiate.
