Dale Ray Satterfield, 77, of Laconia, died Friday, November 15, 2024, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Indiana.  He was born November 25, 1946, in New Albany, to the late Dallas and Lucy Katherine Saulman Satterfield.  He was a retired heavy equipment operator and a member of The International Union of Operating Engineers Local 181, and after retirement, served as a deputy and reserve officer with the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department.  He was also a 52 year member of the Cynthiana Masonic Lodge #710 and the Order of Eastern Star Golden Fleece Chapter, and was a member of the Methodist faith.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Robert Satterfield; and his sisters, Peggy Foreman and Marsha McNeill.

 

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Debra Carver Satterfield; his daughter, Kimberly Sutherland (Tim); his grandchildren, Logan Sutherland (Abby), Lucas Sutherland and Landen Sutherland; his great granddaughter, Lanie Grace Sutherland; his brothers, Fred Satterfield and Steve Satterfield; and his sisters, Karen McCutcheon (Toney), Betty Mertens, Brenda Fogarty, Paulette Emily (Mike) and Kathy Hanks (Dennis).

 

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 21, 2024, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Rev. Richard Goodwin will officiate.  Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.

 

There will be a masonic service hosted by the Crandall Masonic Lodge #591 at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

 

Visitation will be from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 9:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

 

Pallbearers will be Tim Sutherland, Logan Sutherland, Lucas Sutherland, Landen Sutherland, Robert O. Carver and Chad Smith.
