Clara Mae Amy

Clara Mae Amy, 79, of Corydon, Indiana, died Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Indiana.  She was born April 2, 1946, in Harrison County, Indiana, to the late Rush Curts and Lenora Kintner Curts.  She was a retired Math, P.E. and Health teacher with the South Harrison School Corporation and was a volunteer for the American Red Cross.  Clara loved quilting and was a proud and loving mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Earl and Carl; and her sisters, Alice, Stella, Olive, Betty, Flossie, Sherry and Lenetta.

Survivors include her husband, Vernie R. Amy; her son, Michael J. Amy (Amyjo); her daughter, Amanda R. Ettner (Lucas); her grandchildren, Jennifer Franks (Justin), Hayden Ettner, Avril Ettner, Gracelyn Amy, Devon Fuchs (Haven) and Shelby Irelan; her brother, Lafe Curts (Rosie); and her sisters, Joyce Wiseman (Dennis), Benita McDonald (Terry) and Lisa Austin (Jimmy).

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2026, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Rev. Jerry Shelley will officiate.  Burial will be in Central Cemetery in Central, Indiana.

Visitation will be from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday and after 9:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Hayden Ettner, Devon Fuchs, Justin Franks, Lucas Ettner, Jimmy Austin and Gibie Shewmaker.
