Charles R. “Charlie” Shawler, 85, of Corydon, Indiana, died Monday, June 9, 2025, at his home in Corydon.  He was born May 4, 1940, in Shepherdsville, Kentucky, to the late Bev Fredward Shawler and Winnie Lee Flowers Shawler.  He was a retired operations manager at Mid-States Agriculture in Corydon, was a member of First Capital Christian Church in Corydon, and was a U.S. Navy veteran.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sylvia J. Ledbetter Shawler; his brothers, William Shawler and Paul “Freddie” Shawler; and his sisters, Margaret Kendall, Velma Reynolds and Sylvia Stephenson.

 

Survivors include his sons, James N. “Jim” Shawler (Debbie) of Gainesville, Virginia and Charles “Darren” Shawler of Corydon; his grandchildren, Tracey and Hannah; and 2 great grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.

 

Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
