Charles Michael “Mike” Chism, 78, of Corydon, died Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville. He was born March 1, 1944, in Harrison County, Indiana, to the late Walter Earl Chism and Helen Victoria Day Chism. He was a retired machinist for Precision Automation in Clarksville, Indiana, was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 2950 in Corydon, was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, the Paralyzed Veterans of America, and the Knights of Columbus, and was a U.S. Army and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shirley Mae Fancher Chism; his brothers, Richard A., Robert A. and John E. Chism; and his sister, Barbara A. Stults.
Survivors include his brothers, James D. “Jim” Chism of Corydon and William J. Chism of Elizabeth, Indiana; and his sisters, Joyce K. Chism, Mary Rose Chism and Jane M. Chism all of Corydon.
Funeral services will be private at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Corydon.
