Cecil "Bud" Thompson, Jr.

Cecil “Bud’ Thompson, Jr., 68, of Corydon, died Monday, January 4, 2021, at Indian Creek Health and Rehabilitation Center in Corydon.  He was born November 18, 1952, in Somerset, Kentucky, to the late Cecil Thompson, Sr. and Geneva Coffey Thompson.  Bud accepted his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at age 22 and was a devout member and assistant pastor of Faith Assembly Church in Clarksville, Indiana. He was also a self employed carpenter and loved to hunt and go on Jeep rides.  Bud was a wonderful Husband, Dad and Papaw and will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Margie Vaughn.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Patricia Vaughn Thompson; his son, Jason Thompson (April) of Lanesville, Indiana; his brother, Randy Thompson (Rhonda) of Somerset, Kentucky; his sister, Linda Garrettson (David) of Issaquah, Washington; and his grandchildren, Lauren and Logan Thompson.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2021, at Faith Assembly Church in Clarksville.  Pastor James Allen and Associate Pastor Kevin Crase will officiate.  Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth, Indiana.

Visitation will be from 2:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon, and after 10:00 a.m. Friday at the church.

Pallbearers will be Jason, Logan, and Randy Thompson, Paul Elliss, David Lavey, and Phil James.
