Carl Edgar Welman, 83, of Corydon, Indiana, died Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Harrison Springs Health Campus near Corydon.  He was born March 16, 1942, in Corydon, Indiana, to the late Clifford and Helen Rosetta Sillings Welman.  He was retired from General Electric in Louisville, Kentucky having worked there for over 32 ½ years and was a U.S. Army veteran.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shirley Ann Hoback Welman; his brothers, Robert and Paul Welman; and his sister, Dorothy “Dottie” Feller.

 

Survivors include his son, Darren Dwaine Welman (Sandy) of Corydon; his daughters, Dawn Denise Welman Johnson (Jeff) of Alpharetta, Georgia and Dana Daneen Conway (W. Derick) of Charlestown, Indiana; his brother, Jim Welman of Georgetown, Indiana; his grandchildren, Emily Taylor Johnson, Mackenzie Johnson Beckenhauer (Thomas), Summer Sandlin, Carley Conway, J Conway, Will Conway, and Lyla Conway; and his great grandson, Lyndon Bosley.

 

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday, December 12, 2025, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Shepherd Lawrence Hofmann will officiate.  Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.

 

Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
