Bonnie M. Carter, 86, of Laconia, died Friday, April 10, 2020, at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany. She was born, June 10, 1933, in Laconia, to the late George Edward and Sarah Maye Hunter Bartley. She was a retired postmaster at the Laconia Post Office and was a member of Grace Tabernacle Assemblies of God Church near Laconia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward E. “Ned” Carter; her brothers, June, John, Dallas and Bill Bartley; and her sisters, LaVerne Farrish, Lois Schneider, Inez Watson and Elizabeth Wolfe.
Survivors include her son, Greg Carter (Ronda) of Laconia; her daughters, Marcia Brown (Gary) of Stamping Ground, Kentucky and Terri Stewart (Rodney) of Laconia; her grandchildren, Corrie Kemper (P.T.), Kelly Carter, Andrew Brown (Brittanie), Dane Carter (Wendy), Erin Mitchell (Chad), Adam Stewart (Tara), Caleb Stewart (Savannah), Elisabeth Solomos (Joe), Levi Stewart (Shawna) and Rebekah Kemp (Caleb); and her great grandchildren, Madison, Sadie, Allie, Chapel, Trust, Jude, Miles, Cade, Maecy, Molly, Marley, Judah, Silas, Shiloh, Lincoln, Lawson, Anderson, Olivia, Gabriel and Paxton.
Funeral services will be private at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Burial will be in Union Chapel Cemetery near Laconia.
