Betty J. Frakes O'Dea

Betty J. Frakes O’Dea, 94, of Mauckport, died Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at Baptist Health Louisville.  She was born September 15, 1928, in Mauckport, to the late Raymond and Madge Crosier Frakes.  She was formerly employed as a telephone operator at Fort Knox, and was a member of Mauckport United Methodist Church, the Order of Eastern Star, and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, John O’Dea and Dale Timberlake; her sons, Ellis and Kelly “Muggs” Timberlake; her grandchildren, John D. Timberlake, Canaan Timberlake and Kim (Timberlake) Yahraus; her brother, John Frakes; and her sisters, Charlotte Ernst and Helen Reas.

Survivors include her son, Gary Timberlake (Linda) of Louisville, Kentucky; her grandchildren, Michelle Jurige of Louisville, Cheri Remland (David) of Boca Raton, Florida, Josh Timberlake of Louisville, Kelly Timberlake of Irvington, Kentucky, Katie Hardesty (Johnny) of Brandenburg, Kentucky, and Chase Timberlake (Angie) of Greenville, Indiana; 16 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Rev. RIchard Goodwin will officiate.  Burial will be in Otterbein Cemetery near Laconia, Indiana.

Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to Mauckport Community Church.

Pallbearers will be Josh Timberlake, Chase Timberlake, Wyatt Carroll, Alex Persaud, John Jurige, and Gary Jurige.  Honorary pallbearers will be Kody Timberlake, Kelly Timberlake, Jr., and Travis McKim.
