Arlene May Gerdon, 82, of Corydon, died Saturday, August 22, 2020, at Harrison Healthcare Center in Corydon. She was born November 13, 1937, in Floyd County, Indiana, to the late Norman and Opal Lee Byrne Utz. She was a caregiver for the elderly and was a member of Trinity Assembly of God Church near Corydon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Chester Gene Gerdon; and her siblings, Barbara Leorna, Velsie Gayle, Arlis Leroy, Helen Louise, Betty Jane, Donna Jean, Norman Richard, Dallas Ray, Darlene Faye (her twin) and George Curgus.
Survivors include her son, Richard Gerdon (Rilla) of Corydon; her daughter, Deanna Williams of Clarksville, Indiana; her sister, Carolyn Joyce Reed of Corydon; her grandchildren, Brian Gerdon (Erin), Kevin Gerdon (Candace), Tyler Jenks and Noah McKim; and her great grandchildren, Isaac, Ava, Emma, Porter, Violet and Sawyer.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2020, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Rev. Paul Greer will officiate. Burial will be in Perseverance Chapel Cemetery near Corydon.
Pallbearers will be Deanna Williams, Brian & Kevin Gerdon, Brandon & David Hardin & Noah McKim.
Visitation will be from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to Trinity Assembly of God.
