Anita Ann Hitchcock

Anita Ann Hitchcock, 68, of Corydon, died Tuesday, August 25, 2020, at Indian Creek Health and Rehabilitation Center in Corydon.  She was born November 23, 1951, in Central, Indiana, to the late Harley Tom and Margaret Louise Lopp Shewmaker.  Anita graduated from Corydon Central High School in 1970 and married Tony G. Hitchcock on August 25, 1973.  She worked for several organizations before retiring and was a member of Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church near Corydon. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Tony.

Survivors include her brother, Melvin Shewmaker (Sharon) of Corydon; her sister, Phyllis Faith of Mauckport; her adopted daughter, Jeana Wetzel (Jimmy) of Corydon; 3 step children; and many loving grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 30, 2020, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Pastor Frank Pendleton will officiate.  Burial will be in Central Cemetery in Central, Indiana.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Saturday and after 9:00 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the Central Cemetery Foundation.

Pallbearers will be Emily, Travis and Chad Gunther, Mathew and Terry Faith and Scott Shewmaker.  Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Shewmaker, and Jeana, Shaun and Jimmy Wetzel.
