Alice M. Pate, 93, of Corydon, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Indian Creek Healthcare Center in Corydon.  She was born May 4, 1931, in Harrison County, Indiana, to the late Claude and Lula May Gerdon Higginbotham.  She was formerly employed at the old Indiana Army Ammunition Bag Plant near Charlestown, Indiana and as a seamstress, and was a member of the New Middletown White Cross Church and the homemakers club.  Alice loved making pies and cakes for the fair.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Darrel Pate; her daughter, Claudia Brown; her sister, Stella Nale; her brother, Art Smith; and her step mother, Elizabeth Higginbotham.

 

 Survivors include her son, Robert Pate; her son in law, Gary Brown; her brother, Paul Higginbotham; 4 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 31, 2024, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Rev. Steve McAfee will officiate.  Burial will be in Fogal-Farish Cemetery in New Middletown, Indiana.

 

Visitation will be after 5:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
