Alice Virginia (King) Craig, 89, of New Albany, died Tuesday, April 28, 2020, at Green Valley Care Center in New Albany. She was born September 11, 1930, in Corydon, Indiana, to the late Thomas and Dessie (Huntsinger) King. She was formerly employed at the old Indiana Army Ammunition Bag Plant near Charlestown, Indiana and the U.S. Census Bureau in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Alice was devoted to her family and friends. She helped young people with college expenses. She had a very green thumb, tending to her indoor and outdoor plants. At one time, she subscribed to 5 newspapers, because she said she wanted to know what was going on in the world.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 58 years, Clarence Eldon Craig; and her brothers, Francis King, Robert King and his wife, Mary, and Kedrick King and his wife, Shirley.
Survivors include her loving children, Richard E. Craig and Myra L. Craig both of New Albany; and her grandson, Steven Eldon Craig and his fiancé, Danielle.
Funeral services will be private at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.
A public Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to Fountain United Methodist Church or the Harrison County Animal Control.
