Alan Dever Obituary

Alan Dever, 57, of Elizabeth, died Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at his home near Elizabeth.  He was born September 17, 1964, in Clarksville, Indiana.  He worked as a self employed carpenter, and was a member of God’s Church in Corydon, Freedom Christian Church in Elizabeth, and First Baptist Church of Elizabeth where he was involved in Mercy Street ministries.  Alan was a NASCAR fan, and enjoyed cooking, music, hunting and fishing, and working with those with addictions.

 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Berny and Anna May Dever, and John and Mattie Stith.

 

Survivors include his parents, Berny Richard Dever and Gloria Jean “Jeannie” Stith Dever; his children, Kasey Dever, Kolton Dever, and Kayla Money (Anthony); 5 grandchildren; his sister, Robin Rhodes (David); his nephew, Cody Rhodes (Margaret); and his best friends and caregivers, Amy Kannapel Metz, Sherri Blackman Knear, and Maria Grant.  Alan will be missed by his many loving friends.

 

There will be a Celebration of Life at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, September 25, 2021, at First Baptist Church of Elizabeth.  Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth.

 

Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the church.
