William Joseph "Joe" Roberts

William Joseph “Joe” Roberts, 90, of Corydon, formerly of Franklin, North Carolina, died Sunday, November 4, 2018, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon.  He was born July 6, 1928, in Gilmanton Ironworks, New Hampshire, to the late William Ernst and Louie Frances Baynham Roberts.

Joe attended the University of New Hampshire, was a retired general contractor in Florida for several large companies, was U.S. Navy Seabee veteran of the Korean War where he helped construct air fields for U. S. Marine air groups during the war, and he loved to golf and snow ski.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wives, Patricia L. Roberts and Shirley M. Roberts.

Survivors include his Son, Daryl J. Roberts; his daughter, Kathleen Lower (Mike); his step son, John Hinton (Rosie), his grandson, Brian Lower (Alecia); his step grandson, John Hinton, Jr.; his great grandchildren, Alexis Marie Lower and Caleb Michael Lower; his sister, Marie Kerr (Robert); and his nieces, Deborah Kerr, Teresa Rodgers, and Caroline and Cindy Godwin.

Funeral services will be private at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
