Walter “Rex” Kingsley, 73, of Laconia, died Friday, August 18, 2017, at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville.  He was born July 8, 1944, in Harrison County, Indiana, to the late Simeon and Myrtle Saulman Kingsley.  He was a retired millwright at Corhart Refractories in Louisville, was a former president of the Millwright’s Union in Louisville, was a former mail carrier in Laconia, was a member of the Union Chapel Christian Church near Laconia, the Old Capital Coon Hunter’s Club, the American Redbone Coonhound Association, the United Kennel Club, the National Rifle Association, the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association, and the Hornickle Post American Legion #379 in Elizabeth, was a U.S. Army veteran, and was an avid IU and Bobby Knight fan.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Leah Ann Kingsley; and his sister, Jimmie Gertrude King.

 

Survivors include his wife, Pamela Ann Smith Kingsley; his son, Eric Scott Kingsley of Laconia; his brother, Joseph Kingsley (Odey) of Laconia; and his sisters, Lena Mae Ferree (James) of Laconia, Linda Birdwell (Eddie) of Georgetown, Indiana, Katherine Knear (Ralph) of Elizabeth, Beverley Eisenmenger (John) of Elizabeth, and Debora Dones (Skip) of Laconia.

 

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Brother Ron Stuart and Brother Toney McCutcheon will officiate.  Burial will be in Union Chapel Cemetery near Laconia.

 

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

 

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to Union Chapel Cemetery Perpetual Care.

 

Pallbearers will be Trey and Joshua Saulman, Kenny and Cody Ferree, Kevin Crosier and Darrell Kaiser.
