Thomas Craig “Jr.” Ernst, 90, of Laconia, died Monday, May 15, 2017, at Baptist Health-Floyd in New Albany. He was born October 7, 1926, in Corydon, to the late William W. and Emma Craig Ernst. He was retired from Ford Motor Company in Louisville, was a member of the U.A.W. Local #862, the Mauckport United Methodist Church and the V.F.W. Post 2950 in Corydon, was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, and was a proud Grand Marshall, with his wife Charlotte, of the Laconia Days Parade in 2016.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 6 siblings.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte R. Frakes Ernst; his daughter, Karen Hunter of Corydon; his brother, John “Jack” Ernst (Ruth) of New Albany; and his grandchildren, Craig and Eric Hunter.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 19, 2017, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Rev. Charles Pelc and Rev. Mark Windley will officiate. Burial will be in Otterbein Cemetery near Laconia.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday and after 9:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the Otterbein Cemetery Fund.
Pallbearers will be Craig and Eric Hunter, Travis McKim, Greg and John Reas, Ellis Timberlake, John Dowell and Steve Manus.
