Susan Renee Phillips, 56, of New Middletown, died Monday, December 17, 2018, in Corydon. She was born September 6, 1962 in Corydon. She was an ordained Pentecostal minister, was employed as a representative for Midwest Pets at Tractor Supply Company and Feeders Supply both in Corydon, was a member of the Indian Creek Trail Committee in Corydon, and was a member and assistant pastor of Alpha and Omega Church in New Salisbury, Indiana where she also served as an outreach minister at the Blue River Services group home in Marengo, Indiana, all the local Corydon nursing homes and at Harrison and Clark County jails and Branchville prison.
She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Steen and her grandparents, James and Willadean Wright and Ed and Jewel Steen.
Survivors include her husband of 34 years, Marc N. Phillips; her mother, Deanna Wright Brock (William) of New Middletown; and her brother, Kevin Steen (Pamela Schmelz) of New Middletown.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 21, 2018, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Brother Steve Arnold will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery near Laconia.
Visitation will be from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday and after 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the Memorial Cemetery Fund.
Pallbearers will be Bill Best, Terry Brock, Davey Steen, Roger Faith, Mike Carter and Terry Carter.
