Stanley E. Miller

Stanley Elmer Miller, 94 , of Corydon, died, Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at Collins Foster Medical Home near Corydon.  He was born May 30, 1923, in Harrison County, Indiana, to the late Herman and Ora Voyles Miller. He was a farmer, was a former sales manager with Gerdon Auto Sales, was a former insurance salesman with Farm Bureau Insurance and various other insurance companies, was a longtime member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church where he was very active in many activities and boards, was a Lutheran League leader, was a leader and livestock judging coach with the Harrison County 4-H, was a member of the Corydon Optimist Club, was a former president of the Harrison County Farm Bureau, was a former board member of the Harrison County Soil and Water Conservation District, was a longtime member of the St. Peter’s Cemetery board, was an active volunteer for Meals on Wheels, was a U.S. Army Air Forces veteran of WWII, and he loved to play Santa Claus at the local nursing homes or anywhere he could spread joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Herman Miller, his granddaughter, Ashley Marian Miller; and his great granddaughter, Gabrielle Marjorie Consolino.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Zelma “Margie” Blank Miller; his son, Lynn Stanley Miller (Laura) of New Middletown; his daughters, Deanna Kay Jensen (Herbert) of Indianapolis and Elaine Sue McIntosh (Michael) of Muncie, Indiana; his grandchildren, Jennifer Jensen, Timothy Jensen (Katie), Julie Jensen, Jamie Hull (Jon), James Jensen, Rebecca Radcliff (James), Chassidy Jensen, Dacota Woods, Michelle Consolino, Karissa Mullett (Christopher), Matthew Miller (Brittany), Annalea Greer (A.J.), and Curtis Miller; and his great grandchildren, Caleb, Eli, Miriam, Justice, Jianna, Tristan, Taylor, Tenley, Austinn, Chaz, Hunter, Vincent, Dominic, Charlotte and Ryker..

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church near Corydon.  Rev. Evangeline Anderson-Rajkumar will officiate.  Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday and 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.

Pallbearers will be Curtis and Matthew Miller, Tim Jensen, Chris Mullett, James Radcliff, A.J. Greer, John Boyd, Jr., and Gary Bickel.  Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Gerdon, Joe Nichols, Stephen Miller, and James Wolfe.
