Orlen George “Junior” Gunther, Jr., 55, of Laconia, died Sunday, October 13, 2019, at his home near Laconia. He was born December 4, 1963, in Corydon, to Edna Mae Uesseler Gunther and the late Orlen George Gunther, Sr.. He was the owner of Gunther’s Equipment Services, was formerly employed at Cardinal Carryor and MH Equipment both in Louisville, and was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in New Middletown.
He was preceded in death by his father and his sister, Linda Miller.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane “Susie” Kays Gunther; his mother of Laconia; his son, Jake Gunther of Laconia; his daughter, Jackie Gunther Morford of Corydon; his step son, Kenny Jennette of California; his step daughters, Janie Knieriem (Ronnie) of Milltown and Teri Reed of Salem; his brother, Ed Gunther (Rose) of New Middletown; his sisters, Donna Mattingly (Gary) of Corydon and Judy Gunther of Laconia; his grandchildren, Aria Reese Morford, Cody Knieriem, Tim Knieriem, Destiny Oliver, Jordan Vaughn, Zeanna Reed and Cameron Pollard; and his great grandchildren, Kaydience Oliver, Delilah Knieriem, Arabella Vaughn, Micah Vaughn and Baxter Vaughn.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 18, 2019, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Rev. Rick Harting will officiate. Burial will be in Salem United Church of Christ Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday and after 9:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jake Gunther, Paul Philpot, Scott Gunther, Cody Knieriem, Tim Knieriem and Cameron Pollard.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to Salem United Church of Christ.
