Mary "LaVerne" Wiseman

Mary “LaVerne” Wiseman, 95, of Corydon, died Tuesday, March 12, 2019, at Indian Creek Healthcare Center in Corydon.  She was born November 30, 1923, in Mauckport, Indiana, to the late Elmer Eugene Faith and Maude Lohmeyer Faith.  She spent her childhood and graduated from Mauckport High School, than she attended a business college. After graduation she worked in Washington D.C. for a few years, then back to Indiana where she married the late Elmer R. Wiseman and had employment at Harrison REMC until her retirement Thirty years later. She was a member and worked at Hyland Christian Church until it closed and as long as health permitted she attended Union Chapel Christian Church. She was a member of the VFW of Corydon, IN and the Eastern Star of New Albany, IN She made her home, after her husband passed, at Cedar Court assisted-living.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer Ray Wiseman; and her brother, Gayland “Red” Faith.

Survivors include her sister in law, Wilma Richard.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2019, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Brother Ron Stuart will officiate.  Burial will be in Hyland Cemetery near Mauckport.

Visitation will be from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Saturday and after 10:00 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the Hyland Cemetery Fund.

Pallbearers will be Dayton Boyd, Jerry Boyd, Brad Wiseman, Patrick Richard, Kelvin Wiseman, Eric Fowler and Dewayne Wiseman
