Marvin Edward Brown, 95, of Corydon, died Saturday, July 13, 2019, at Indian Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Corydon. He was born January 20, 1924, in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, to the late David Franklin and Lena Frances Coke Brown. He was a retired watchmaker and bricklayer, was a member of New Middletown United Methodist Church, and was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Ted Brown; his brother Gerald “Jack” Brown; his sisters, Ida Barrow and Joan Dones; and his great grandchild, Taylor Allie Dillie.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Shawler Brown; his son, Max Brown (Dana) of Corydon; his brothers, Robert Brown (Mary) of Corydon and Lee Brown (Lu) of North Carolina; his grandchildren, Stephanie Brown, Christina Hess, Dawn Tyree, and Ted F. Brown, Jr.; 8 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2019, at New Middletown United Methodist Church. Rev. Steve McAfee and Rev. Ted Chalk will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon, and after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
