Mark Gregory Ferree Obituary

Mark Gregory Ferree

11/05/1957  to   12/16/2018   (age 61)

Mark passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones.  He battled pancreatic cancer for two years.  He fought a good fight, he finished his race, and he kept his faith and now he has everlasting life.

Mark was proceeded in death by his parents, Robert Gunterman and Anita Hoskins Ferree.  He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Michele and his two sons, Joel Gunterman Ferree and Jon Henry Harrison Ferree.  Mark was proud of his sons and loved them deeply. He longed to live to be a part of their lives.

Mark is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Mike (Sally), Becky Trammell (Ronnie), Tony (Katrina), Lindy Harmon (Tommy), and Bobby (Winnie).  Mark loved his family and his precious childhood memories of growing up on Ferree Road on the farm with his brothers and sisters and parents.

Additionally, Mark is survived by his mother in law, Phyllis Koerner who loved him like a son and his sister in law, Pam Ward and sister and brother in law, Beth and Scott Royalty.

Mark was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews and he loved them all.  They brought him great joy.  He was blessed to get to visit them and enjoy their company many times in his life.  He was loved in return by all of them.

He also had so much love for his aunts and uncles and cousins.  Bruce Ferree was like a brother to Mark.

Mark had many blessings in his life.  He had many friends and church families who showed him great kindness and love.  Many faithful prayer partners stood with him during his battle and encouraged him daily.

Mark enjoyed a long career as a member of International Stage Employees #17.  He was very proud to be a member of the stage craft industry and he took great pride in being a skilled journeyman. Mark represented hard work and dependability.  He was afforded many opportunities during his career and spent several years touring with Phantom of the Opera and Lion King as a stage electrician before returning home and working locally the latter part of his career.

Mark was gifted in that he could fix anything, build anything, repair, restore, provide, and take care of any need that presented.  He loved butchering, spending time in the woods, working in his shop, gardening and tinkering with whatever was not working.  He was always working on something.  He loved a challenge and learning new things.  If Mark couldn’t fix it then it couldn't be fixed.

Mark was blessed with many church families and attended church at Revelation Tabernacle, First Born Church and Saint John’s Pentecostal.  Loving members of the churches blessed Mark on numerous occasions through prayer and kindness.   He loved them all.

We are thankful to the faithful friends, prayer partners, family members, neighbors, and all those who showed such love and compassion during Mark’s battle with cancer.  Your cards, calls, gifts, food, prayers, and all that you did helped Mark's family during a time of great need.   You blessed Mark.
