Linda Kay Simler, 71, of Central, died Monday, January 6, 2020 at Harrison Healthcare Center in Corydon. She was born February 9, 1948, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late James and Irene Sime Kintner. She was a retired registered nurse (BSN) and a member of Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church near Corydon.
She was preceded in death by her son, Bryan L. Simler and her sister, Helen Schneider.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Simler; her son, Steve Simler (Mindy) of Central; her daughter-in-law, Heather Simler-Walden of Depauw; her grandchildren, Michael, Andrew (Ashton), Bryson, Sierra, and Destiny Simler and Brett and Justin Walden; her great grandson, Colt Simler; her brother, John Kintner (Joyce) of Lanesville, Indiana; and her sister, JoAnne Owen (Bobby) of Jeffersonville, Indiana.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 9, 2020, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Rev. Mike McCarty will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery near Corydon.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 9:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Michael, Andrew and Bryson Simler, Bobby and Robbie Owen and Jerry Grant II.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
