Lawrence A. Wernert, 83, of Corydon, died Sunday, May 19, 2019, at his home. He was born May 3, 1936, in Depauw, Indiana, to the late Arthur and Viola Davis Wernert. He was a farmer, the former owner of Country Tyme Processing, owned and operated L & S Catering, was a past president of Harrison County Pork Producers, a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church near Corydon and a veteran of the United States Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Dwight Wernert; and his sister, Geneva Jones.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 63 years, Naomi “Susie” Redden Wernert; his son, William Wernert (Annette) of Lanesville, Indiana; his daughter, Susan Isbell (Jim) of New Salisbury, Indiana; five grandchildren, Stephanie MacDonald (Mike), Zach Isbell (Brooke), Tabatha Smith (Dave), Ryan Wernert (Katie) and Jordan Wernert; two great grandchildren, Graham & Lincoln MacDonald; and his brothers, Larry & Melvin Wernert of Ramsey, Indiana, Merle Wernert of Floyd Knobs, Indiana and Mark Wernert of Palmyra, Indiana.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 24, 2019, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church near Corydon. Pastor Evangeline Anderson-Rajkumar will officiate. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon and 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Zach Isbell, Ryan Wernert, Jordan Wernert, Michael MacDonald, David Smith and Mark Wernert.
