Kermit W. McMonigle, 67, of Corydon, died Thursday, August 9, 2018, at Norton Hospital in Louisville. He was born June 16, 1951, in Harrison County, Indiana, to the late Narvil D. and Geneva B. Lingenfelter McMonigle. He was the former owner/operator of McMonigle Trucking, was a member of the Corydon Moose Lodge and the Pisgah Masonic Lodge #32 F&AM in Corydon, and was a U.S. Army Reserve veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Linda McMonigle and Teresa Anderson; and his grandson, Brennin.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia A. Wathen McMonigle; his daughter, Heather R. Lee (Chris) of Corydon; his brothers, Stanley McMonigle of Corydon, Donald McMonigle of Palmyra, Indiana, Kevin McMonigle (Teresa) of White Cloud, Indiana, and Phillip McMonigle of Nevada City, California; his sisters, Darlene Steiner (Paul) of New Middletown, Indiana, Marlene Engleman of Ramsey, Indiana, and Sharon McMonigle of Palmyra; his grandchildren, Hadley, Deziree, Hayden and Emery; and his great grandson, Sawyer.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Pastor Tim Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.
Visitation will be from 12:00 – 5:00 p.m. Sunday, 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Monday and after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Elmer, Jaye and Jeff Carver, Steve Mullen, and Tim and Jeff Dunaway. Honorary pallbearers will be Hayden Ruby, Kurt Davison, and Gary Ripperdan.
