Judith Earle “Judy” Smith, 77, died Sunday, May 12, 2019, at her home near Corydon, Indiana. She was born September 30, 1941, in Norwalk, Connecticut, to the late Henry and Alma Allen Hart. She was formerly employed at the A & P Bakery in Louisville. Judy applied her creativity, intelligence, passion, and wit to everything she did. Judy was an excellent teacher, an advocate for the vulnerable, a music lover, and a maker of the best pies you ever tasted.
Survivors include her husband, Michael “Mike” Smith; her sons, Michael B. Smith of Greeley, Colorado and Matthew J. Smith (Tanya Gillespie) of Rapid City, South Dakota; her daughters, Kathleen E. Harmon (Steve) of Midland, Ohio and Jennifer R. Hughes (John-Paul) of Romeoville, Illinois; her sisters, Carol Wilhite of Corydon and Susan Pennington (Ted) of New Salisbury, Indiana; 5 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2019, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Pastor Donnie Whitlow will officiate.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday and after 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
