Joseph Edward Kingsley, 86, peacefully passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at the Kentuckiana Medical Center with his family by his side. He was born October 16, 1931, in Laconia, Indiana, to the late Simeon “Doc” and Myrtle Saulman Kingsley. Joe is a United States Army Korean Veteran, a lifetime member of Union Chapel Christian Church near Laconia, served on the Laconia town board for 30 years, and was retired from Riverton Trucking. Joe was an outdoorsman and an avid coon hunter.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Jimmie Gertrude King, and his brother, Walter Rex Kingsley.
Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Odie Robinson Kingsley; his sons, Robert Kingsley (Joan) and Eddie Kingsley (Shelly) both of Elizabeth, Indiana; his daughter, Tammy Eschbacher of Laconia; six grandchildren, Natalie Ward (Craig), Brooke Isbell (Zach), Brandon Eschbacher, and Whitney, Paige and Tyler (Hannah) Kingsley; three great grandchildren, Scarlett and Cole Ward and Milo Kingsley; his sisters, Lena Mae Ferree (Jim) and Debbie Dones (Jesse) both of Laconia, Linda Birdwell (Eddie) of Georgetown, Indiana, and Katherine Knear (Ralph) and Beverly Eisenmenger (John) both of Elizabeth; his brother in law, Melvin King; and his sister in law, Pam Kingsley.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p. m. Friday, December 23, 2017, at Union Chapel Christian Church near Laconia. Brother Ron Stuart will officiate. Burial will be in Union Chapel Cemetery near Laconia.
Visitation will be from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon and after 11:00 a.m. Friday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Gary King, Donnie Ferree, Brandon Eschbacher, Tyler Kingsley, Zach Isbell, and Craig Ward.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to Union Chapel Cemetery.
