James M. Bays, 72, of Salem, died Saturday, July 15, 2017, at Meadow View Health and Rehabilitation Center in Salem.  He was born December 24, 1944.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Hattie Bentley Bays; and his brothers, Eugene and Tony Bays.

Survivors include his sister-in-laws, Marcella Bays of Lanesville and Clara Bays of Florida; his nieces and nephews, Kathleen Pate (Phillip) of Salem, Gayle Wernert (Mark) of Palmyra, Jeffery Bays (Sharon) of Charlestown, Indiana, Philip Bays (Penny) of Lanesville, Gregory Bays (Stacy) of Georgetown, Indiana, and Christopher Bays of Florida.

Funeral services will be private at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.
