George Henry Pelleman, Jr., 71, of Leavenworth, died Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at his home near Leavenworth. He was born September 9, 1946, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late George Henry Pelleman, Sr. and Claudia Mildred South Pelleman. He was U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, was retired from the Millwrights local #2209, was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Post 16, the American Legion Post #133 in Alton, Indiana, and the V.F.W. Post 2950 in Corydon, and was the Fire Chief of the Leavenworth Fire Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Bonita Pelleman.
Survivors include his daughters, Dana Lea Pelleman (Rich Horn) of Georgetown, Indiana, Lesley Anne Kendrick (Jamie) of Leavenworth, Lori Lynn Pelleman (Wendy Black) of Depauw, Indiana, and Wendy Holladay of Nashville, Tennessee; his son, David Pelleman (Angela) of Berryville, Virginia; his brother, Dwayne Pelleman (Charlene Hopper) of Leavenworth; his sisters, Vickie Morin of Palmyra, Indiana, and Robin Goodpaster (Sam) of Marengo, Indiana; and his grandchildren, Jacob, Nicholas and Abigail Pelleman, Nathan and Presley Holladay, Sydney Brooks, and Bailey Bockting.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 11, 2018, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon. Fire Chaplain Rev. Hank Ruff will officiate. Burial will be in Leavenworth Memorial Gardens near Leavenworth.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday and after 9:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Lori and Dwayne Pelleman, John, Jeff and Carl LaHue and Tim Farris.
