Garnet "Waneka" Mackison

Garnet Waneka Breeden Mackison, 86, of Rockville, Maryland, died Monday, March 19, 2018, at Asbury Methodist Village in Gaithersburg, Maryland.  She was born November 14, 1931, in New Amsterdam, Indiana, to the late Harvey and Elsie Froman Breeden. 

Waneka, as she was known, was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Clifford, Max and Weldon Breeden; her sisters, Fern Gehlbach, Christine Deich, Elva Cline, and Helen, Louise and Vera Lorene Breeden.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Frank W. Mackison; her sons, Stephen W. Mackison of Woodbine, Maryland, Scott R. Mackison of Frederick, Maryland, and Michael A. Mackison of Rockville, Maryland; and her grandchildren, Graham, Riley, Kendal and Grady.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2018, at New Amsterdam Cemetery with a reception to follow at New Amsterdam United Methodist Church.
