Dorothy E. Hussung

Dorothy E. Hussung, 92, of Lanesville, died Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at her home in Lanesville.  She was born March 17, 1927, in Lanesville, to the late Gustav and Elma Ott Walther.  Dorothy spent her life happily serving others as she worked as a cook at St. John’s Lutheran School, and was also a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lanesville where she was an active member of the Martha Society. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 64 years, Edwin L. Hussung; and her sister, Imogene Hussung.

Survivors include her daughters, Sandy Young (Larry) of New Albany, Indiana, and Vickie Jacobs (Doug) and Pam Johnston (Brian) both of Lanesville; her sister, Shirley Lieber of Lanesville; her grandchildren, Jeremy Young (Stephanie), Clint Jacobs, Megan McMillin, Nic Jacobs (Mandy), Seth Jacobs, Faith Puckett (Jordan) and Mackenzie Johnston; her great grandchildren, Samantha and Jacob Young, Caroline and Elise McMillin, Carmen, Chloe and Hunter Jacobs, Tanner Jacobs and Walter Puckett; and her great great grandchild, Raylynn Baird.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 11, 2019, at St. John’s Lutheran Church near Lanesville.  Pastor Mark Carnahan will officiate. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday and after 9:00 a.m. Saturday at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Young, Clint, Nic and Seth Jacobs, Jordan Puckett and Tom Lieber.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church or School.
