Doris M. Crone

Doris M. Crone, 88, of Corydon, died Wednesday, October 24, 2018, at Harrison Healthcare Center in Corydon.  She was born February 27, 1930, in Dogwood, Indiana, to the late Otto and Carrie Mason Rowe.  She worked as an elder and children’s caregiver, was formerly employed at ARPAC in Corydon, and was a member of the Corydon Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ray G. Crone; her daughters, Karen Payton, Cindy Mathes, Janet Crawford and Pattie Emily; her grandson, Billy Reagan; her great grandson, Kaeden Embry; her brothers, Roswell, Raymond and Kenneth Rowe; her sisters, Mary Shireman, Wilma Anderson and Bonnie Feller; and her son in law, Patrick Spalding.

Survivors include her sons, Jimmie Crone (Betty) of Corydon and Jerry Crone (Lori) of Depauw; her daughters, Beverly Spalding of Palmyra, and Kathy Hood and Debbie Johnson (Fred) both of New Salisbury; her sister, Betty Kepley of Mottown; 22 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 29, 2018, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Charlie Crawford will officiate.  Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon.

Visitation will be from 1:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday and after 9:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Crone, Brian Emily, Donnie Spalding, Jason Crawford, Jim Ray Crone, Timmy Payton, Brandon Crone, Fred Johnson and Jared Mathes.  Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Spalding, Rodney Payton, Shane Crawford, Dino Crone, Justin Reagan, Jeremy Crone and Josh Crone.
