Burrell Franklin Ekart, 94, of Laconia, died Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at Indian Creek Health and Rehabilitation Center in Corydon.  He was born November 8, 1922, in Harrison County, Indiana, to the late Vallee and Ida Miller Ekart.  He was a retired truck driver and a farmer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his granddaughter, Amanda Joe Ekart; his brothers, Manford and Denzil Ekart; and his sisters, Thelma Durbin and Thelda Hisey.

Survivors include his wife, Ethel Pindell Ekart; his sons, Jay F. Ekart and Jerry L. Ekart (Judy) both of Laconia; and his grandson, Kevin F. Ekart.

Funeral services will be at 6:00 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2017, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.  Brother Ron Stuart will officiate.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the Laconia United Presbyterian Church or Old Goshen Cemetery.
